Get to know the place

What is Holiday Island known for?

Holiday Island combines a residential lake setting with golf and recreation facilities. It can serve as a base for Table Rock Lake time, a visit to Eureka Springs or a closer look at owning a home in the Ozarks.

The city’s history distinguishes the original resort development from the later municipality. The Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District was formed in 1970. Developer assets changed hands in 1990, followed by additions including The Park commercial area and The Bluffs. Municipal incorporation was ordered December 3, 2020, with second-class city designation in March 2021.

The lake here is Table Rock Lake, a reservoir extending across Arkansas and Missouri. It is separate from Beaver Lake. That distinction matters when choosing a rental, planning boat time or comparing homes advertised with lake views. Use an actual address and map rather than assuming every Ozark lake property offers the same access.

A visit works best when you separate public activities from facilities tied to property ownership or guest passes. The marina and golf courses welcome public visitors; recreation-center access follows different rules. Knowing that before booking helps you choose a stay around the activities you can actually use.

Things to do in Holiday Island

Holiday Island Marina · 124 Woodsdale Drive

Plan a Table Rock Lake outing

The marina welcomes the public as well as property owners. Boat launching, a courtesy dock, fishing piers and marina services make it a local lake-access point. The operator advertises pontoon and tritoon rentals. Reserve directly and check season, conditions and equipment availability before building a day around a rental.

A lake shared by two states

Go fishing on Table Rock Lake

Table Rock supports bass, crappie, walleye, bluegill and catfish fishing. Missouri conservation information identifies spring and fall as useful crappie periods. This is different from a trout-focused trip to nearby Roaring River. Check the rules for where you will fish, including applicable state or border-lake permits, before heading out.

A full round in wooded terrain

Play the 18-hole golf course

Rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways give the 18-hole course its setting. Public players are welcome, with owner and public fee arrangements. Check tee times and current course conditions before arriving, especially if golf is the main reason for your visit.

A shorter round beside the lake

Choose the 9-hole executive course

The separate lakeside executive course is a par-30, nine-hole option. It can make a shorter golf outing easier to fit around other plans. Both courses are listed as operating year round, subject to conditions; confirm the day’s availability instead of assuming the weather will cooperate.

Holiday Island Campground

Camp & take a lakeshore walk

The campground overlooks Table Rock Lake, with a natural trail leading toward the lake bank. RV hookups, showers and other facilities are listed by the district. Its main season runs from the first April weekend through October 31. Confirm reservations and any off-season arrangements with the campground.

Property owners & guests

Use recreation facilities with the right pass

Pools, pickleball, tennis, basketball, miniature golf and other recreation-center activities are for property owners and guests under the district’s access rules. If you are staying in a vacation rental, ask the host exactly which passes are provided and which fees apply. Pools and programs also have seasonal schedules.

Discover local groups & gathering places

The official directory includes hiking, gardening, arts, golf, singing and photography groups. The historic Barn, near the recreation center and nine-hole course, is a reserved event venue with a past as a ranch or resort horse stable. Clubs and gatherings offer ways to get to know the community beyond a lake weekend.

Eureka Springs or Cassville, Missouri

Take a nearby Ozark day trip

Head into Eureka Springs for historic streets, shops and dining, or consider Roaring River State Park in Missouri for trails, picnicking and trout fishing. These are nearby excursions rather than Holiday Island attractions. Choose one direction for the day and check the destination’s current program before you travel.

For lake fishing, consult the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Missouri border-lakes permit information. A lake that crosses a state line needs more precise planning than a general “Arkansas fishing” assumption.

Nearby dining in Eureka Springs

Find the right base

Where to stay near Holiday Island

Local lodging centers on privately owned rentals and camping. The right choice depends on whether you want a kitchen, room for a group, an RV site or a hotel experience nearby. Lakefront, lake view and lake access describe different property features.

Local vacation rentals

Holiday Island cabins, homes & condos

Holiday Island Lodging lists cabins, vacation homes and condos in the community. Compare the actual unit, sleeping arrangements, kitchen setup and parking. October & November 2026

Fall around Holiday Island

Lake views, wooded roads and a cooler-weather golf round make an autumn visit appealing. State tourism foliage guidance generally places northern Ozark color in October, often strongest late in the month. Weather varies, so plan around the activities you enjoy as well as the possibility of color.

October · Check seasonal operations

A lake-view day with flexible plans

Combine a local meal, a scenic outing and golf when conditions allow. The marina operator currently publishes fall operation through October 15; confirm later-season rentals directly. The campground’s main season ends October 31, so November lake visits need a different lodging and access plan.

Fall events in Eureka Springs

A visit to Eureka Springs can add cemetery history tours, the October 24 Zombie Crawl and November community celebrations to a Holiday Island stay. Plan around the specific 2026 date and venue, allowing time for downtown parking and the return trip.

The dated programs above were checked October 11, 2026. Pool use, boat rentals, campgrounds and recreation programming each follow their own season. Verify the specific service you need; an open golf course does not mean every summer amenity is operating.

Make the most of your time

A two-day Holiday Island itinerary

Choose a pace that leaves time to enjoy the setting. A lake outing, golf round and excursion to another town need different arrangements; there is no need to squeeze all three into one day.

  1. Day one morning: choose lake time or golf

Start with coffee or breakfast, then follow a confirmed marina booking or tee time. If rentals are out of season, choose golf or another accessible outdoor outing instead. Bring what you need for your booked activity and leave room for a change in weather.

  2. Day one afternoon: get to know the community

Have lunch locally, explore the area around your lodging and compare the community’s different settings. A property owner or eligible guest can plan recreation-center time under the current pass rules. A rental visitor should confirm access with the host before putting facilities on the itinerary.

  3. Day two: explore in one direction

Choose Eureka Springs for a museum, downtown browsing and dinner, or Roaring River State Park for a Missouri outing. Check that day’s program and operating schedule. Return with enough time to relax at your lodging instead of adding another distant attraction at the end of the day.

See beyond the weekend

Considering a home in Holiday Island?

A home search here should include the City of Holiday Island and the Suburban Improvement District. They have different responsibilities, and service arrangements can change. The city currently describes district water, sewer and recreation services alongside municipal and shared arrangements. Verify the current setup for the address you are considering.

Compare the individual property’s district assessments, utility charges, amenity passes, covenants and any association obligations. For a lot, ask about buildability, access and service connections. For a home, ask about driveway grades, maintenance, internet availability and the route to the everyday places you will use. A lake view alone does not answer those questions.

If you are considering a vacation property, distinguish personal use from a rental plan. Confirm the property’s permitted use, host responsibilities and guest amenity access with the relevant offices and documents. Obtain written details about the actual property rather than assuming that another nearby rental has the same permissions or operating costs.

Spend time here with your normal routine in mind: errands, appointments, recreation and social connections. The clubs directory provides a starting point for getting involved, but check each group’s current program. Different homes can offer very different daily experiences even within the same community.

Katie Hendrickson can help you turn those priorities into a focused search. Explore buying with Katie, start a personal home search or compare the Eureka Springs community guide before your next conversation.
